I'm Nicki - a nature lover, adventurer, and a fine art photographer based in Northern Utah. My camera is how I make sense of the world.
I grew up camping, hunting and exploring my boundaries. Even when I complained, I didn't mind those early mornings. There is something that happens when you step outside before first light - especially on a crisp autumn morning. You breathe in the cold and exhale to see your 'breath fog' and you take a moment to let yourself just be in it - the stillness, the color, the way nature reminds you that you're part of something much bigger. Photography is my attempt to bottle that feeling and bring it home.
I fell in love with photography young. I was gifted my first camera in high school, when I shot for the high school newspaper with dreams of becoming a photojournalist. Life took me on plenty of detours, but the camera never really left me.
I started sharing my work because I believe the world has more beauty in it than the noise lets us see. My hope is that a print on your wall becomes a daily reminder of that - a quiet invitation to slow down, breathe, and reconnect. The more time I spend in 'wylde' places, the more committed I become to protecting them.
Thank you for being here.
Seek beauty. Share it wildly. Repeat. Be awkward. Be brave. Be kind. Be you.
